Who are the Dominicans?

While she was pregnant with Dominic, Jane d'Aza dreamed that she was carrying in her womb a dog that would run across the world with a torch in its mouth, setting the people on fire with God's love. Dominic's followers, members of the Order of Preachers, have been igniting the world with the good news of Jesus for 800 years. We Dominican Sisters of Springfield minister in the tradition of Dominic, imagining a world alight with the healing and reconciling love of God and laboring together to bring it to birth. Since 1991 we have been joined by women and men who have expressed a desire to join us as associates in our ministry. We invite you to do the same.

            

Who is eligible?

  
  • Baptized Christian women and men 21 years or age or older . . .
  • With a desire to share in the spirit and mission of the Springfield Dominican Sisters . . .
  • In response to God's call to live the Dominican vocation, charism, and mission in communion with the sisters and other associates.
