How will I know if God is calling me to be a sister?
In this world it would sure be a lot easier if we could know a call the way we know 2+2 = 4!! Your question is a good one.
St. Thomas Aquinas tells us that the grace of God builds on our human nature. Know what you are naturally attracted to as you think of serving God’s people. Know the strengths and weaknesses of your personality and take all of this to your prayer. We are all called by our baptism to help build the kingdom of God and each one of us has a specific call. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in your daily life so that you might better understand where your heart and God’s heart meet.
Perhaps this prayer will help you:
Come Holy Spirit,
Enlighten me with your wisdom.
Guide me to choose well the particular
Vocation within your Church
Where I will find my greatest joy.
