Sister Catherine Stewart, OP, Then and Now

Then...

I was the apple of my parents’ eyes as a bright, happy two-year-old. I eagerly awaited the birth of my twin brothers David and Dennis and sister Ann. I grew up on a farm and loved all that the outdoors had to offer. In third grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My brothers and I often played school so I’ve had lots of practice teaching!

Now...

I presently teach at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The courses I generally teach are Educational Foundations, Teachers in Catholic Schools, and Social
Studies Methods for the k-6 teacher. I also supervise student teachers. I’m very active in St. Matthew’s Parish where I belong to the stewardship committee and serve as the secretary for the parish council. I also serve as a Eucharistic Minister. I love adventure and am willing to try new ideas. My hobbies include walking, reading mysteries, and baking.
