Before we were the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois, “we” were simply seven young Dominican women sent from Kentucky to central Illinois to teach immigrant children. Those seven had no idea, in 1873, that they would become the wisdom figures for generations of Dominican Sisters to follow them.
