Hello, my name is Elyse Marie Ramirez O.P. For the last twenty plus years I have been living the life of a Dominican woman passionately responding to the call of the mission of Jesus. The first pulpit God gave me as a Dominican is my life in community so that I might learn the grace of listening as well as speaking the Word. My first ministry found me preaching from the pulpit of my life as a teacher. Later God gave me the pulpit of Campus Ministry and eventually Vocation Ministry. Each phase of my life as a Dominican has been filled with the joy that comes from being called into God’s heart as we preach the gospel.

Presently, I serve my congregation as the Promoter of Preaching. In this role I encourage our members as they respond to the Dominican vocation to preach from the pulpit of our lives and participate collegially with other Dominican congregations and provinces through out the United States as they encourage the preaching charism in each of their particular places. Together Dominicans throughout the world are praying, studying, and living for the common good so that the Word we preach is one of humility, truth, justice and compassion.
